HandCrafting the dream through Imports & Exports

Updated: Nov 24, 2020

For 23 year old Prosper Yuma,  more formally known as the fashion brand, Mitaa Chappa, Imports and Exports uplifted this young entrepreneur and fashion enthusiast from a local to a global business icon.

Mitaa Chappa, now importing fabrics from china worth R200 000, strive to find outfits that are chic yet affordable and can often be found posing in front of a quirky London backdrop, with the help of his photographer Friend, Djeha Eloge.

Mitaa Chappa is derived from the Swahili language meaning Local Brand, has far outgrown its local boarders. The fashion designer also exports his fashion designs to other African Countries, whilst employing young South African Models and giving them great career exposure. Prosper aims to inspire the youth with his stories and crafts.

"an interest in fashion doesn’t minimise one’s intellect - Mitaa Chappa

Mitaa Chappa explores the idea that “an interest in fashion doesn’t minimise one’s intellect” by challenging conventional notions of beauty and high fashion. It seeks to give women reassurance in themselves that how you look is an entirely individual choice and that fashion can be the ultimate platform for self-expression.

For me personally, as a young professional working in Foreign Exchange, I appreciate Prosper and his efforts to empower and grow not only his own business through importing and exporting, but also for empowering the youth as well as bringing foreign currency into the country.
